‘Ludo’ Movie Review – Intense Dark Comedy Leaves You With Big Smile On Your Face - 4 Stars


 Anurag Basu’s Latest offering on Netflix original Ludo is a Roller-coaster ride with a lot of turns and twist and at the end this ride will make you feel good with big smile on your face. It’s a worth of your time the 4 stories blended so well that you hardly see any dull moment.

Story: Film starts with Anurag basu whos having a cameo playing a Yamraj who waits for the people to die and meanwhile plays ludo with his assistant. Film has four stories of different lives and they caught up in the end. All four stories blended so well that it looks like it’s a one single story. All the characters chase for Money, Love, Power and Dreams throughout the film. Dark and edgy comedy goes well with the story.The perfect Portrayal of Extraordinary circumstance and made a person worst or better that is the key thing to watch out for in this film.

Acting : Great Assemble of talented cast did full justice to their characters dialogue delivery, expressions, funny movement and comedy of error at a perfect timing is a USP of all the star cast. Pankaj Tripathi in never seen before role where he hides gun on his thigh just like a James Bond Girl. His fresh approach to this character is treat to watch. On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan and Rajkumar rao also did something they never did before. Rajkumar rao a funny & Big time Bollywood Lover impresses with his imitating skills specially imitating the Mithun Da. Aditya roy Kapur a part time stand-up comedian struggles to find a true love in Sanya Malhotra this couple is highly entertaining than any other couple. Fatima Sana Shaikh adorably did a good job in acting department. Along with main lead supporting cast like Asha negi, Pearle Maaney, Inayat Verma, also did a fabulous job and plays it well to keep you entertained.

Direction & Cinematography: Anurag basu after break came up with such film this is his first dark comedy film and what a script to debut in this genre. Direction is at par and Cinematography is stunning. Had some great outdoor shots which make you plan a trip on to these places. Some indoor shots are decent, but the Actors skills enhances the entire scene. Throughout the film you won’t be able to find any gap in direction and screenplay the connectivity is best in this film. Netflix has invested cleverly in this film.

Final Verdict : We all like hustle of other people, don’t we? This film has some extraordinary hustle in a highly entertaining way. It’s a treat to watch such actors playing such a superb characters.Dark comedy goes well with Anurag basu’s direction and this amazingly written film has a bunch of reason to not miss. A good watch over the weekend or any time. This film will make you Laugh, Fall in love and at the end will bring big smile on your face. A feel-good film vastly satisfying 4 Stars to this erroneously dark comedy.
