Ola Ventures into Electric Vehicle segment and announced the Brand-New Ola Electric Scooter. With daily rise in petrol price Ola found opportunity in Electric vehicles and all set to Launch Electric Scooter at a competitive price. The expected price of Ola Scooter will be around 1lakh Rupees and top model price can go up to 1.2 to 1.4 lakh rupees with insurance and tax. However, there is no official confirmation on price. Ola Scooter will hit the market around 18th Aug 2021. Brand has already kickstarted promotion and this will be completely direct home delivery there is no Dealer intervention while purchasing Ola Scooter.
Talking about
performance Ola scooter will have top speed of 100KM/hr and will run 150KM
in single charge. Scooter will take 150-160 minutes to fully charge. It will
come in 3 variants basic, standard, and Advance, basic variant will have 2kW
Motor with top speed of 50-60km/hr and limited color options. The standard variant
will have top speed of 70km/hr and have 6 color options to choose from
and the advance variant will have 7kw motor which has capabilities to reach top
speed of 95-100km/hr and have 10 colors options. Scooter will
also come with home charger where you can charge at your home.10 vibrant color options
just to wow the audience and give fresh identity to brand.
Company had
developed new base in Bengaluru for its EV manufacturing and Distribution with
500+ employees dedicated to research and innovation to Electric vehicles.
Company also plans to open a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu which will employ
10,000+ workers with advance AI technology to boost manufacturing capabilities.
Company Aims to Manufacture and Ensemble 25000 units of Ola scooter per
day and maximum of 2lakh units per year.

once the company starts its distributions. Ola will also have over 1lakh
charging stations in over 400 cities across India. At Hyper charging
station where you can charge 50% of battery in just 18 minutes. With home
charger scooter will take 330 minutes to fully charged. The scooter will
also have GPS Navigation on its 7inch screen with 4G connectivity to
find the nearest charging point. There will be separate app which have all the information
and notification on full charge along with Find the scooter option in
case of stolen.
With climate
change and sustainability is gaining popularity venturing in to electric
vehicle segment will be smart move for Ola but there are many players already there
in electric vehicle segment, Ather Energy will be the close
competitor as the Ather 450 model is already running on the streets of Bengaluru.
Ola scooter will see tough competition from Ather Energy as both company’s offering
are almost similar.
