All About Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh

 On the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Vicky Kaushal has dropped the teaser of his upcoming film Sardar Udham on his Instagram account. Sardar Udham is a biopic film of india’s Great Freedom fighter Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar and is produced by Ritesh Shah and Shubhendu Bhattacharya the film is based on the horrific historical event of Jallianwala Bagh in which Vicky will be seen as Sardar Udham Singh who was the brain behind the assassination of British General Michael O'Dwyer who was sole responsible for the deadly carnage. This incident took place in 1919 and thousands of people were killed by the British army.

The Shooting of this film was got over in December 2019 but due to pandemic situations in india Shoojit Sircar took almost two years for post-production. Earlier Vicky has shared photo of himself in a Sardar Udham singh’s Look on social media and now shared the teaser of the film. The film is said to be a big budget biopic film and has big scale production along with the OTT release. Film will be aired on Amazon Prime Video.

This is not the first time that the film has been made on Sardar Udham singh. in 2000, film on similar story had been made in Punjabi cinema with title of Shaheed Udham Singh in which Raj Babbar had played the role of Sardar Udham singh and along with Gurudas maan, Juhi Chawla & Amresh puri was also seen in the film. Since it was made in Punjabi very niche group of audience knows about the film and now after 21 years the film has been made in national language to reach larger set of audience which is necessary for all the Indians to know about their freedom fighters specially the Youth of India.

The Official trailer of the film will be launched on the 30^th September 2021 in Mumbai along with the key people of the film including the lead actor Vicky Kaushal and the film will be released digitally on Amazon prime video on 16^th October 2021. The Assassination which shook British empire will be interesting to watch in the form of cinema. Along with Vicky we will be seeing Banita Sandhu (British actress primarily works on Indian films), Chiranjeevi, Athiya Shetty and Amol Parashar (who will be playing the role of Shaheed Bhagat Singh) in the film.

Well, it seems like Vicky loves plying patriotic roles or he is getting only these kinds of roles after the grand success of the Films like URI and Raazi. Vicky is also working on the Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film “SAM” in which Vicky will be seen in playing the role of Sam Manekshaw who was the first field marshal of India, this film is produced by Ronnie screwvala.
