Mumbai, May 13,
2022: Inking a
stupendous result, Amritansh Nigam and Tanishka Kabra students from
Aakash+BYJU’S, the national leader in test preparatory services, have made the organisation and
the nation proud by outshining in the
prestigious Indian Olympiad Qualifier Examination 2022 and will now be representing India in Armenia
and China respectively. The students have been
selected by HBCSE to represent India in International Biology Olympiad 2022 and
International Chemistry Olympiad 2022 respectively.
Based on his performance in the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Biology (IOQB) Part
II, Amritansh Nigam has been selected for IOB 2022, which will be held at
Yerevan, Armenia from July 10th to 18th 2022. He has
scored mighty 244/298.5 in IOQB part II and directly becomes eligible to
participate in IBO 2022.
Based on her performance in the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Chemistry (IOQC) Part
II Tanishka Kabra has been selected by HBCSE to represent India in
International Chemistry Olypiad 2022, organised by China and which will be held from July 10th to 18th, 2022 via
online mode.
The examination is
organized by the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences in association
with Indian Association of Physics Teachers and Homi Bhabha Centre for Science
Education (HBCSE). Each year over 30,000 students of 12th Standard or below,
sit for this examination.
IOQB is intended
for students of 12th standard, though 11th standard students are also
allowed to appear for the examination. There is a designated statewise quota
according to which the students are selected for the next stage. Further all
students scoring greater than 80% of the average of the top ten scores at
national level (called as Merit Index Score) get automatically selected
irrespective of the statewise quota. Usually, top 1% students from this
examination are selected to sit for the Indian National Biology Olympiad.
Congratulating the
students on the impressive results, Mr Aakash
Chaudhry, Managing Director, Aakash+BYJU’S said: “We are very proud of Tanishka & Amritansh who are
representing India at global platform in Armenia and China for IBO 2022 and IChO 2022. We would also
like to thank the parents for extending support. The credit goes to the
hard work put in by our students and faculties as well as the quality test
preparation imparted at the institute. I wish them all the best for the next
round.”
On the basis of
performance in IOQB, the top students in the merit list are selected for Stage
III Orientation Camp (OC) in biology. The student undergoes numerous
theoretical and experimental sessions. The selected member Indian team
undergoes a rigorous training programme at HBCSE in theory and experiments.
Special laboratories have been developed at HBCSE for the purpose of
experimental training. Resource persons from HBCSE and different institutions
across the country train the students.
The Olympiad
programme culminates with the participation of the Indian students (4-6 in each
subject) in the International Olympiads.
